Hind will sing a fado in USC spring 2008

Hind will be the dutch representitive in the Sring editionof USC 2008. It will be a busy schedule, for she will be participating in the Eurovision Songcontest as well. In USC she'll do what most dutch people like her doing best; singing a great ballad.

Netherlands runner up in 1964 USC!

The dutch entrants (father and daughter) Willie & Willeke Alberti almost won the 1964 edition in USC History! Their song "Sabato sera" ranked ended after an exciting voting in runner-up position. Dalida took the victory, but Willeke and Willie proclaimed they were very happy with the result! Willek prophetized she'd be back in the contest although it might take her 30 years.

Floortje got lost between other ballads

After her performance there was a big applause for Floortje. Soon as the points were given it became painfully clear that her song was going for victory but was struggling not to rank last. Which it didn't. With 37 points Floortje ranked 23rd out of 27. It was the worst ranking for the Netherlands in the final, where this time were loads of ballads.

At least Floortje took the loss very lightly, for she said not qualifying for a final would have hurt more and now she was able to sing for whole Europe. "Maybe I'll be back in autumn", she smiled.

Frank Boeyen ranks 14th place in 1986 history

Expectations were really high on the entry by Frank Boeyen Groep "Kronenburg Park" but the lyrics might were a little too dramatic. Frank Boeyen and his Group reached the 14th place in USC 1986 history with their songs about a woman encouraged to get out of prostitution. Nevertheless the song became a became a record selling hit in The Netherlands.

1985 Dutch entrant sings about prostitution

The dutch 1985 USC entry will be a song with a dramatic message and lyricpiece. It deals about a prostitute and a client.

Frank Boeijen Groep, the band around singer Frank Boeijen wil perform the song "Kronenburg Park" which deals about the tragedy around prostitution. Women who don;t want to sel their body and men paying for it. The song is about the lack of effection both experience and tries to pull them out of that misery. "Ga die wereld uit" means: Get out of that world! In the dutch city of Nijmegen, Kronenbrug Park is a parc like Bois de Boulogne in Paris. A park famous for it's hookers.

The whole lyrics are like this (translation underneath)

Kronenburg Park

Ik weet niet wat jou zover heeft gebracht
Als ik jou zie 's avonds bij het park
De autolichten beschijnen je lichaam
Zonder ogen zonder herinnering

translation

Kronenburg Park

(@ protitute)
I don't know, what made you do this
when I see you at the park.
carlights light your body
Without eyes, without memory

I take it that you never knew love
not even when you needed it most
The words describing you are low and cheap
In a second it started raining tonight.

Get out of that world, within the time of a second
and quickly drive out of that surrounding
Get out of that world, within the time of a second
and start looking around in our paradise
Don't ask for the road to follow, because everybody lost track

In search for happiness in Kronenburg Park
At home, awaits a wife, not knowing 'bout her husband
Never she noticed a sign of his insatisfaction
and verything stays the same,
when he drives home again....

Get out of that world, within the time of a second
and quickly drive out of that surrounding
Get out of that world, within the time of a second
and start looking around in our paradise
Don't ask for the road to follow, because everybody lost track
