Hind will sing a fado in USC spring 2008

Hind will be the dutch representitive in the Sring editionof USC 2008. It will be a busy schedule, for she will be participating in the Eurovision Songcontest as well. In USC she'll do what most dutch people like her doing best; singing a great ballad.

Netherlands runner up in 1964 USC!

The dutch entrants (father and daughter) Willie & Willeke Alberti almost won the 1964 edition in USC History! Their song "Sabato sera" ranked ended after an exciting voting in runner-up position. Dalida took the victory, but Willeke and Willie proclaimed they were very happy with the result! Willek prophetized she'd be back in the contest although it might take her 30 years.

Floortje got lost between other ballads

After her performance there was a big applause for Floortje. Soon as the points were given it became painfully clear that her song was going for victory but was struggling not to rank last. Which it didn't. With 37 points Floortje ranked 23rd out of 27. It was the worst ranking for the Netherlands in the final, where this time were loads of ballads.

At least Floortje took the loss very lightly, for she said not qualifying for a final would have hurt more and now she was able to sing for whole Europe. "Maybe I'll be back in autumn", she smiled.

Frank Boeyen ranks 14th place in 1986 history

Expectations were really high on the entry by Frank Boeyen Groep "Kronenburg Park" but the lyrics might were a little too dramatic. Frank Boeyen and his Group reached the 14th place in USC 1986 history with their songs about a woman encouraged to get out of prostitution. Nevertheless the song became a became a record selling hit in The Netherlands.
