1997 preselection

The 1997 preselection is filled with 15 very different songs. From the rocky Anouk (pictured), via the infamous danceroutine hype called 'gabber' from the Party Animals to ballads like "World without you" and the say-farewell-to-grantma-Schlager (debut) by Jan Smit (then called little Jan in dutch: Jantje) Voting procedure is ESC-style, votes to be cast by email or soulseek chatroom

K-otic wins Dutch 2002 USC national final

In a close final of a high musical standard K-otic has won the Dutch 2002 USC national final with their song "I surrender" (26 points). Runners up were Di-rect (25) and Marco Borsato (23) . Romeo (22) and Within Temptation (20) completed the top 5.
